Unfortunately, bullying is a hot topic of conversation these days.
All of us have been touched by bullying in some form, whether we were bullied, witnessed bullying, or at one point-were the bully ourself. With cyber bullying on the rise, this seems to be a very real problem that just won’t go away!!!
As a parent, it can be frustrating when you know something is going on that’s effecting your child’s well-being, and emotional health…and it feels like no one will listen to you!

This morning, we’re standing up to bullying! Were you bullied? Has your child been bullied?!? Is this something you’ve dealt with? What did you do to cope with it? Were you able to get people to acknowledge your concerns, and improve the situation?!? Tell us about it.

This is a super recent bullying, and unfortunately its happening between housemates. I live in an apartment with 2 other ladies, and when suggested we all split up cleaning work to them, they got angry. It turned out that the next day these girls were saying awful things about me, attacking everything from intelligence to body. After telling them what I heard them say, I didn’t receive an apology – I was told “oh well”. Their final words were, “do not talk to us, and do your own thing”. I am living in the same apartment, but get to use the common area all to my self, because if I’m in the room they won’t come in or even look at me. I guess my overcoming the bully is just taking advantage of the area I have, and acting like I’m having a great time, with or without them.

Thanks for the opportunity to share that bullying doesn’t stop in high school, it will go where ever the bully goes.

Bullying is becoming all too familiar and we as parents and friends need to be accountable for our children and we also need to make the schools and the government accountable and make programs and safe havens available to those being bullied so that we don’t lose any more children to bullying whether to depression, cutting, attempting suicide or succeeding in suicide. This issue of Bullying needs to be addressed in the schools, school boards, local government, provincial govt, and federal government. We all need to help and if we see or hear the bullying we need to step in and help in whatever way we can. Please don’t leave the child to fend for themselves and feel all alone. Cyber bullying is out of control and once it is out there you can’t get it back, but support to help deal with it is essential. Lets all work together and get educated and help bring this beast down to size and not let it get more out of control. I am a parent and I feel for all those children being affected and also older teenagers and adults that it is affecting. It is never too late to help. Lets stop bullying in its tracks now. Thank you for listening and now lets take action.
